    • Pay-as-you-go SMS
    • No minimums

  • iMessage capability

    $69.99per month, as an add-on

Costs that are not on the pricing page

  • The leased number the iMessage capability attaches to is its own line item.
  • SMS is billed separately from iMessage — a fallback strategy costs on both meters.

Contiguity turns up in cheapest-iMessage-API searches because of a $0.005 per-message figure. That figure is real, and it is the SMS rate. iMessage is a separate $69.99/month capability added to a leased number.

This is the most commonly misquoted price in the category

If you have seen Contiguity described as costing half a cent per iMessage, that was a misreading of the SMS line on the pricing page. Budget $69.99/month plus the number lease, which places it in the middle of the field rather than at the bottom.

Read correctly, it is still a reasonable buy — just for a different reason than the one it gets recommended for. The value is channel breadth: one API and one bill covering iMessage, SMS, email, WhatsApp, voice and OTP verification, with no A2P 10DLC registration to sit through.

If iMessage is the whole point of your project rather than one channel among several, the specialist vendors give you more iMessage for the money — the full comparison is here.

Where these numbers come from

Taken from Contiguity's published pricing page in August 2026. The distinction between the SMS rates and the iMessage capability fee is the vendor's own structure, but it is easy to misread — several third-party roundups quote the SMS figure as though it were the iMessage price.

Best value for

Developers who need one cheap API across SMS, email, WhatsApp and voice, with iMessage available when a particular thread warrants it.
